INTEGRATED EFFECT OF FENUGREEK SEEDS AND COLD ABDOMEN PACK ON TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS INDIVIDUALS

Abstract


Background: Diabetes mellitus comprises of a group of common metabolic disorders that share phenotype of hyper-glycemia. The effect of
fenugreek seeds and abdomen pack is comparatively less understood on Diabetes mellitus as a combined approach. Hence, this study was
conducted to evaluate the effect of fenugreek seeds and cold abdomen pack on Type II Diabetes individuals. The subjects for the study were
recruited from the Out Patient Department (OPD) of SDM Yoga and Naturopathy hospital.
Materials And Method: Thirty (n=30) individuals with Type II Diabetes were selected for the study after screening according to diagnostic,
inclusion, exclusion criteria. Subjects were recruited from SDM yoga and nature cure OPD Ujire. After a thorough and detailed case history, the
subjects were taken in the study and treatment was given. The blood glucose levels (FBS AND PPBS) were checked on the 1st day before the start of
treatment and the post data was collected on 10th day. This procedure was executed by providing fenugreek seeds and abdominal pack every day in
the morning on empty stomach.
Result: After including fenugreek powder on empty stomach and abdominal pack in their daily routine, there was a signicant reduction in Fasting
blood sugar levels and Post prandial blood sugar levels. There was also reduction total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol.
Conclusion: The present study shows that adding fenugreek seeds powder on empty stomach and abdominal pack, targets the elevated blood sugar
levels in patients with Diabetes.
