Abstract

Moynihan's hump is a rare tortuous anatomical variation of Right hepatic Artery. Moynihan's Hump or Caterpillar Configuration is identified in the Callot's triangle which is generally very rare anomaly. The presence of Moynihan's hump can increase the risk of injury to the hepatic artery and bile duct during surgery. A failure to identify this configuration can lead to hazardous Surgical complications like bleeding etc. A Moynihan's hump of right hepatic artery is reported around 1.3% to 13.3% cases [1,2]. Here, we report a case of Moynihan's hump identified during laparoscopic cholecystectomy to treat cholelithiasis in 41-year-old female patient. Further we discuss anatomical details for highlighting the importance of correct identification of this anomaly during surgery and complications associated
with failure to identification.
